TEHRAN - Yahya Rahim Safavi, a top military aide to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said on Monday that resistance will result in boosting Islamic unity and foiling enemies’ plots.

“The theory of the Islamic resistance is the only inspiring prescription that can result in Islamic unity and defeating plots of the hegemonic system, Zionism and Wahhabism,” Rahim Safavi said during a speech at the International Conference on Islamic Unity in Tehran.

The major general pointed to certain Arab countries’ relations with the Zionist regime of Israel, saying, “Today, their ugly and division-seeking face has been revealed and Muslim nations are facing the test to choose Islam and freedom or reliance on the U.S. and Zionism.”

Elsewhere, Safavi, a professor of geopolitics at Shahid Beheshti University, attached great importance to the role of Muslim scholars and intellectuals in Islamic societies.
